Disney Phenomena- Monica C.

This paper will examine the role of the Disney Corporation in the music industry, specifically with pop stars that were once actors during the 2000s. I will further examine the contributions that Disney has made in to the American youth culture. Phenomena like Miley Cyrus and High School Musical have become billion dollar industries and ultimately become a major influence for tweens and young teen in a period of less than 2 years. The impact that they have had is monstrous and has allowed the franchises to develop every type of product from clothing to toys and even food with the stars faces on them, and kids want it all. I will also analyze the strategies and appeals that Disney uses to create a pop-utopia that shapes the clothing styles, lifestyles, and other media preferences of the preteen age group through the music industry.
