British invasion of the 60s - Amelia Lorenzo

This paper will examine the influence of the "British invasion" in the United States in the late 1960s. The major focus of the paper will center around the influence of the Beatles on several aspects of American culture, such as clothing styles, hair styles, political beliefs, and overall lifestyle changes that they brought about. Other popular bands of this time period, such as the Who and the Rolling Stones might be focused on as well but not as heavily as the Beatles. Both the hippie movement and the Vietnam War will be connected to the music and social/political changes the "British invasion" brought to America. The paper will conclude with the ways in which the invasion continued to affect music and culture from the 70s to the present.
